On the 12th of March 2009 SOCIS Center for social and marketing investigations completed a national survey as a part of international research project Legal Cultures in Transition.

 

On the 12th of March 2009 SOCIS Center for social and marketing investigations completed a national survey as a part of international research project Legal Cultures in Transition. The project was conducted for Chr. Michelsen Institute, Bergen, Norway. Survey ws conducted with the use of common methodology in Eastern and Western European countries. This survey implied a study of value orientations of Ukrainian people and attitudes towards obeying the law in our counry, attitudes towards contradictions between existing legislation and its implementation in the life of our society, public opinion towards war against terrorism was also studied. Extra attention was payed to discovery of the features of legal culture of our citizens with the purpose of comparison analysis with other participants of this international project. Due to the representative sample, 1200 respondents were interviewed at the place of their living with the use of standartised interview method. Peculiar feature of this sample is the fact, that extra 200 Crimean tatars were interviewed, as representatives of national minorities of Ukraine. Thus 1400 respondents were interviewed with the use of route selection method.
